This is a good, solid reference book on XHTML that contains many useful pieces of information

XHTML - the new generation of HTML - gives Web authors a powerful and flexible tool for creating sites that can be viewed from more environments than a PC desktop. It does this by reworking HTML as a suite of XML tag sets.

The author introduces you to HTML, XHTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). CSS is the language for controlling how these documents look when viewed by a Web browser. Beginning with a clear tutorial on HTML, XHTML and CSS, you will quickly learn the basic ideas of mark up and style sheet formatting. The book then goes into the details of XHTML, carefully explaining the role of each language component and the purpose of the various CSS mechanisms by which the default formatting can be controlled. There are many new helpful reference sections that offer the reader concise summaries of all the elements defined in HTML and XHTML and of all CSS formatting properties.

Throughout this text the author tackles all the intricacies of XHTML and CSS with this same kind of purposeful dialogue. If you have a firm foundation in HTML and some basic knowledge of CSS, this book will be invaluable to you. This is a good, solid reference book on XHTML that contains many useful pieces of information.
