The Story of CyberDojo (so far)

By Jon Jagger

http://cyber-dojo.org is an innovative, browser based, open-source, environment for practising programming, conceived, designed, and implemented by Jon Jagger. It had one of it’s first outings at the 2010 ACCU conference. It’s come a long way since then and has hosted over 30,000 practice sessions. In this talk I will recount the origins of cyber-dojo, describe the value system that influences it’s design, explain some early design decisions, reveal some of the hacks to make it work, recount some of the bugs that escaped testing, show how the design has evolved, present some statistics on most common languages, etc, etc.
